Each caregiver–patient pair is paid with its hourly rate. Rates come in by themselves from your main system’s “Caregiver Rates” report, when you connect and every time the data is updated; a caregiver’s active or inactive status does not remove her rate or her unpaid work. If a caregiver gets no rate with some patient, her status says “Set her rate”. It is set once per caregiver and patient, not every period, in her file, at “Patients and rates”: tapping “Set her rate” in the Payroll Center, in the closing or in Caregivers opens it there; you tap the patient that is missing. A missing rate does not hide the Payroll Center or stop you from preparing payroll: the total is shown, that caregiver appears with her hours and no amount, and under the total you see how many are missing a rate. A visit without a rate remains pending; it does not become a zero-dollar payment. The first rate for a pair covers all visits with that patient, including earlier periods and visits that arrive later with an earlier date: it has no start or end date. Only a later change has a date. Once you set the rate, other open screens update on their own and, when recalculation finishes, her pay appears. If you had already prepared payroll, prepare it again so it is included. To approve and close, payroll cannot have pending items. A rate you set or change in Leymax is not modified by your system’s report (see “Your system changed a rate you set in Leymax”). If recalculation does not go through, the Payroll bell tells you; tap it to try again.
