Where to find it
Open the file → strip "Papers to place" above the index; Dashboard → "To place"
- Upload from inside the file, with the button in its header. The papers appear as a mosaic of cards, in scan order; the top bar tells you how many are left.
- While a file still has papers waiting, opening it takes you straight to them: the centre is the folder, not a row. The system does not open a paper for you until the last one is placed — if you want to look at a row, click it and it opens; the mosaic is one click away, in the strip above the index.
- The card has TWO lines and they say DIFFERENT things: on top, the name of the PAPER; underneath, the ROW it goes to — "→ goes to row X", "→ you chose this row", "→ you left it without a row", "→ its row is already full · looks repeated", "→ could not tell which row · you choose". A paper and the row it covers do not have to be called the same: the paper is what it says on it, the row is what the law asks for. Each paper's row is decided by the clinic's catalog from the paper type, not by the reading. "possible duplicate of" only appears when the folder brings the SAME paper twice (or a loose sheet that is already inside the packet): two different papers that fit the same row are not duplicates. If the row watches a date, the card shows the date read from the paper.
- Drag the card (anywhere on it) to its row: the rows that accept it light up. Or press "Accept" if the proposed row is right, "Reassign" to pick another, or the red bin to discard.
- Click a card to open the paper large: "Paper N of M", zoom, ← → to move through the papers, and its decisions — "Accept" (or "Accept and go to the next" when there are more), "Reassign", "Separate the documents" if the sheet carries several papers, "Discard the whole document", which takes every sheet with it and asks before doing it. To throw away just ONE sheet of a paper that has several, each sheet carries its own "Discard this sheet" badge at its TOP RIGHT: the first tap asks, the second one throws it away, and the rest of the paper stays. Nothing here can be undone. Once placed, the scissors also live in the row's "Edit".
- Dropping or accepting a paper uses its accepted date when available: a date already confirmed for that paper, or one the system entered by itself, is not asked again. If the row watches a date and no one has confirmed it, the placing window opens with the date read from the paper already filled in and says which date it is; check it against the paper (MM/DD/YYYY) and use "Confirm date and place". A different paper in the same row does not supply this paper’s date. If it is another document, "It is ANOTHER document — create its own row".
- "Discard — this paper does not go in the file" removes it (with your name in the history). A paper with a signature cannot be discarded.
The system learns: a paper you placed by hand once (your agency's own form, a certificate from a school) is recognized by itself the next time it arrives, in any file of the clinic.
The guided tour
The first time you open a file with papers to place, a short tour points at each thing on the screen — the card, "Accept", the drag to the index row (it shows the gesture), "pick the slot", the bin — and you go step by step with "Next". Skip it or finish it and it will not come back by itself; it lives in "How it works", in the header next to the placing strip, and in the file's "⋯" → "How to place the papers".
